The Art-Curious Club at Christie’s for a Behind-the-Scenes Preview of Multi-Million Dollar Artworks | 3-330pm Session
For this meeting of the Art-Curious Club, we’ll go in a completely different direction than the last, which was at a top independent gallery. Instead, we’ll dive into the spectacle of auctions. Though we aren’t going to the 2x/year by-invitation-only auction of multi-million dollar contemporary artworks itself, The Art-Curious Club gets a behind-the-scenes tour of the highlights from Christie’s veteran Stephen Jones, who’ll talk about where these masterpieces came from, why they can sell for such astronomical prices, and more. Capacity is very limited, as Stephen has asked us to limit group sizes to 12. We’ll split the hour with him into two 30-minute groups, to accommodate 24 people in total. You are welcome to stay at Christie's and look at the viewing independently before and after your tour.
