Golden Hour 009: Confidently Wrong
Join us for the ninth Product.ai Golden Hour and the first of Season Two of our series. An evening for people who know their field cold, at our West LA headquarters.
We've all had the moment. An AI gives you an answer that sounds completely sure of itself, and then it turns out to be wrong. We wanted to know how often that happens, so we asked ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity the same 220 shopping questions. They gave conflicting answers on 86% of the questions we scored.
This night is about bringing that into your world. Where has AI been confidently wrong in your field, and what would it take for you to trust it there? We love these tools and use them every day. We just think it's worth knowing when to look twice.
Bring one moment. We'll bring the data.
THE EVENING
5:00 PM · Reception. Doors open as the sun goes down. Bites, drinks, and a wall waiting for the most confident wrong answer you've ever been given.
5:40 PM · Rooms. Four small rooms, one per field: Health and wellness, Money and business, Shopping and products, and Building with AI. Each has a host from our community. Everyone shares their moment, and each room picks one to carry to the stage.
6:25 PM · On stage. Luke Waltman, AI Developer and Alpha Team Member, opens with his own question: when does more context make AI answers worse? Karen Spinner of Product.ai shares what we found in the AI Shopping Divergence Study, in conversation with host Tess Fenn, Director of Community and People.
7:00 PM · The hang. The room stays open until 8.
THE DETAILS
Wednesday, November 4, 5 to 8 PM. Golden Hour happens the first Wednesday of every month.
Room conversations are recorded so we can share what the rooms found, and one room stays off the record. You'll confirm this when you register.
HOW TO GET IN
When you register, share one thing an AI told you with total confidence. A sentence is plenty. You'll write it on a card at the door, and you might find someone in the room who got the same answer.
Alpha Team members: bring one person you believe in. Name them when they register and they skip the line.
Built something that catches AI being wrong, or shows what it takes to trust it? Add a link when you register. We'd love to see it.
