$1 Sprint Sydney
About This Event
The $1 Sprint is a 3 hour challenge with one rule: build something and get a stranger to pay you for it. No pitches. No judges. No hypothetical traction. Just proof of payment.
You walk in with nothing. You have a few hours to find a problem, build a solution, and sell it to someone who has no idea who you are. If money hits your account, you did the thing.
This isn't a competition. The goal is to actually do it, not to beat someone else doing it. You'll be around other people who are equally curious, equally nervous, and equally committed to seeing whether they can make their first dollar.
The $1 Sprint format started in KL with 250+ builders and has since run in Perth. This is the Sydney edition.
What counts as a dollar?
A stranger paying for something you made, with a clear reason. Notion templates, PDF guides, prompt packs, landing pages, micro-tools, scripts, digital downloads, paid APIs. If you can build it and someone will buy it, it counts.
Self-payments, donations, and mates doing you a favour don't count.
The day
Doors open. Quick kickoff: rules, what counts, a couple of short stories from people who've sold before. Then 15 minutes of structured ideation to get out of your head and onto something real. A long build block with mentors floating. Then the sell block, where you go find your buyer. We close with a round table (60 seconds each on what you built) and a look at how everyone went.
Who is this for?
Anyone who's been meaning to start something.
You don't need to be technical. Some of the best first-dollar products are a well-packaged idea on Gumroad. You don't need a startup or a co-founder. You just need a laptop and the willingness to put something in front of a stranger and ask them to pay for it.
