THIS MONTH'S AI DAYTON IS VIRTUAL

QUICK NOTE: Earlier this year we put out a survey about future meeting ideas and feedback said that folks would like the option of a virtual meet-up so with summer vacation in fullswing in June we figured we'd see how it went making this thing virtual for June. (Don't worry, July will be in person :))

This month:

AI is fundamentally rewriting how we create content, communicate, and run businesses. But as adoption accelerates, public trust is plummeting. Half of audiences can now spot AI-generated content, and 52% report reduced engagement when they detect it.

From marketing campaigns to corporate communication and creative design, relying too heavily on generative AI is triggering viral backlash. Major brands like Coca-Cola, McDonald's, and Nike have recently faced heavy criticism for "soulless" AI-generated ads and instantly recognizable ChatGPT phrasing. Even institutions like the British Museum were forced to pull AI-generated social media images within hours of posting after intense public pushback.

This month's meeting talks about the discrepancy between the promises made by big tech and consumer sentiment around it.

About the Speaker: Hailey M. Clark is a Creative Marketing Specialist at The Greentree Group with nearly 20 years of experience in small business marketing, design, and web development. She is a local chapter lead for the AI Collective and an active member of the C2PA, the GovAI Coalition, and the Responsible AI Institute.
