Make Your Chamber Music Come Alive
Workshop Session
Most musicians know the feeling:
For a few moments the music suddenly stops sounding mundane and starts feeling inevitable. Alive. Almost frighteningly so.
And then it disappears again.
This is something you can learn to do
This is a new chamber music deep dive exploring how those moments happen, and how ensembles can learn to produce them more consistently in rehearsal.
Led by Paul Smith, founder of Symphonic Laboratory. Paul studied conducting at Curtis and worked directly with Leonard Bernstein and Sergiu Celibidache. He taught conservatory musicianship, and some of his students have become principal players in major orchestras.
