Belgrave One: Cybersecurity & AI focuses on one of the most urgent issues facing governments and businesses today: who really controls digital space.
Over the past year, cyber attacks have moved from isolated incidents to systemic risk. The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre has repeatedly warned that state-backed and criminal groups are targeting critical infrastructure, healthcare, energy, defence suppliers and public services. The NHS, local councils and major contractors have already felt the impact, with attacks disrupting services, leaking sensitive data and costing organisations millions.
At the same time, AI is changing the nature of cyber conflict. Automated attacks, deepfakes, AI-driven phishing and rapid vulnerability discovery are now part of everyday threat models. Governments are responding with new legislation, higher security standards and increased defence spending, while companies are being pushed to rethink how resilient their systems really are.
AI is changing the threat model faster than most organisations are changing their controls. In September 2025, Anthropic reported disrupting what it described as the first documented case of AI-orchestrated cyber espionage, where attackers manipulated Claude and used its agentic capabilities to run a large share of an intrusion campaign against about 30 targets.
In parallel, Moldova has faced AI-driven information operations linked to Russian-aligned networks, including a reported bot campaign that posted 336 videos aimed at discrediting the pro-EU government.
