About Event

What happens when an automation engineer refuses to be defined by just one technology, application or industry?

Industrial automation is constantly evolving. New systems, technologies and applications mean today's engineers need more than technical knowledge—they need curiosity, adaptability and the willingness to keep learning.

Join us for the August edition of the 9ja Automation Hub Monthly Webinar as we host Anu Olatunji, a Mechatronics and Automation Engineer with over 7 years of experience in industrial automation, control systems and industrial machinery.

About the Session

Beyond the Niche: The Curious Automation Engineer

This conversation will explore what it means to build a career beyond a single niche and how automation professionals can develop the curiosity and practical competence required to work across technologies, applications and industries.

We'll discuss:

  • Building transferable automation skills

  • Learning beyond your immediate area of specialization

  • Navigating different industrial environments

  • Developing practical problem-solving skills

  • Adapting to unfamiliar technologies and systems

  • Bridging the gap between engineering knowledge and real-world industrial practice

  • Lessons from working across manufacturing, oil & gas and process industries
