

HRC Field Trip: Tree Planting
Tree planting, but make it HRC.
Join us for a day outside the city at Ballyduff Trails, a Kawartha Land Trust property near Pontypool, Ontario. We’ll spend the day planting trees, exploring the trails, slowing down with a wellness experience, and sharing a meal together.

What we’ll be doing
2–3 hours of tree planting to support the restoration of Ballyduff’s rare tallgrass prairie and savannah habitats
Forest bathing and a sound bath
Time to explore the trails and lookouts
A shared meal
A short closing reflection to wrap up the day together
Getting there
Transportation to and from Ballyduff Trails will be provided. We’ll have two Toronto meeting and pick-up locations:
Pick up One: Union Station
Pick up Two: Joel Weeks Park
You’ll select your preferred pick-up location when you register. Exact meeting locations, departure times, and return times will be shared with registered participants closer to the event.
Pay what you can
We want this experience to be accessible to our community, so registration is pay what you can. There is no minimum contribution required. If you’re able to contribute, your support helps us continue creating HRC experiences like this for our community.
What to know
This is a full-day outdoor event, and we’ll be tree planting for a good portion of the day, so come prepared to be outside and get a little dirty. We’ll send everything you need to know about what to wear, what to bring, transportation, and the final schedule ahead of the event.
Space is limited to 25 people. Please only register if you’re able to join us for the full day.
