Responsibly scaling biofuels for energy security, jobs, growth, and sustainability
Biofuels are key to reducing reliance on fossil fuels – especially for hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy industry, freight and aviation. This roundtable, hosted in partnership with Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), will explore how biofuels can promote equity and inclusion, conserve biodiversity and contribute to sustainable consumption and production while building climate resilience. It will cover land, water, cropping, and social impacts of biofuel production, and discuss technologies, financing mechanisms, incentives for domestic production, and sustainable practices which, empowered by indigenous knowledge systems, can unlock new opportunities.
