Wings of Fire: FanWing Fest
Linden Tree Books is excited to host the Wings of Fire FanWing Fest, featuring author Tui T. Sutherland!
At this epic one-day festival, FanWings will be fully immersed in the world of Wings of Fire through engaging activities, photo opportunities, in-depth book discussions, and the camaraderie of fellow fans. Throughout the day, FanWings can meet for a photo op with author Tui T. Sutherland, compete in game shows, take part in a costume parade, and enjoy speakers from the Wings of Fire universe.
Each ticket admits one person and includes one of four books chosen at the time of ticket purchase and a poster signed by Tui T. Sutherland. Children must be accompanied by an adult and each attendee needs their own ticket.
The event will be held at the South San Francisco Conference Center at 255 S Airport Blvd. in South San Francisco.
Event Check-In
At check-in, each FanWing will receive a colored bracelet that denotes their meet and greet time, one of four books chosen at the time of ticket purchase, and a signed poster. They will also receive a booklet that outlines the day’s festivities.
Pyrrhia Stage
Programming will include interactive game shows, a presentation from Tui T. Sutherland, the author of the Wings of Fire series, and a costume parade that is open to any FanWing that wants to show off their creativity!
Author Photo-Op
FanWings will be assigned a colored wristband at check-in that corresponds to a designated time slot for their photo op with Tui T. Sutherland. Each FanWing will have the chance to capture one personal photo before rejoining the festivities! Tui will not be signing any books at the event, but all attendees will receive a signed poster at check-in.

General Information
Ticketing
Tickets must be purchased ahead of time and presented upon check-in at FanWing Fest. Tickets are $25 per person and include the choice of one book (selected at the time of purchase) and a poster signed by Tui T. Sutherland. Tickets will not be sold at the door on the event day.
Code of Conduct
All FanWings are expected to act appropriately and abide by all rules and guidelines set forth by FanWing Fest and staff. Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times. FanWing Fest staff reserve the right to ask guests to leave the property for violating any rules or guidelines.
Checking In
Upon arrival at the FanWing Fest, each FanWing (that’s you!) will need to present their digital ticket and be checked in. At this time, you will be given a colored wristband, which must be worn at all times. This designation will provide you with your timeframe for your photo opportunity with Tui T. Sutherland!
Tui T. Sutherland Photo Opportunity
There is one photo op session in the morning and one in the afternoon. Tickets holders are welcome to arrive at any time and will be sorted into their photo op session according to time of arrival and space availability. Attendees wishing to attend the photo op must be in the queue by 4:30PM.
Our volunteers will be able to take pictures on one personal device for the group. There will be no autograph opportunities during the photo opportunity. Group photos are strongly encouraged.
As Tui T. Sutherland would love to meet every FanWing at FanWing Fest, we ask that you prepare your thoughts as you approach the front of the line and are prepared for your photo-op as your moment will go quickly!
All Day Access to FanWing Fest
Once you are checked into FanWing Fest, you will be given a wristband to be worn at all times. If you exit FanWing Fest for any reason, you must have your wristband on and access to your ticket to re-enter. Anyone that attempts to re-enter without their wristband, will not be provided access.
What Time Should I Arrive?
We have a full day of events that you are not going to want to miss! Check in will begin at 9:00AM and end at 4:30PM. Due to the expected high volume of FanWings, there may be a line as you check-in.
What to Expect
FanWing Fest will be a full day of interactive activities, exciting events, and discussing all things Wings of Fire! There will be scheduled programming that you won’t want to miss, as well as opportunities to explore and partake in independent activities.
What to Bring
You will need your digital or printed ticket to verify your entry into FanWing Fest. You may also consider bringing a water bottle and medications that you may need. Depending on the location, there may not be access to outlets to charge devices. Please bring any portable chargers that you think you will need for the duration of FanWing Fest.
What to Leave at Home
Weapons of any kind are prohibited.
Food & Beverages
You may bring snacks into the venue. These should be ready to eat snacks, as there is no access to a microwave or other heating or cooling devices.
Dress Code
FanWings are encouraged to dress in a Wings of Fire themed outfit or costume. There will be an optional parade to show off your creativity amongst your fellow fans! Weapons of any kind will not be allowed, and any costume masks must be removable.
Beyond a fierce costume, FanWings are strongly encouraged to wear sneakers and other comfortable clothing for a full day of walking around FanWing Fest. Layers may be preferable as the temperature within the venue may vary.
Photography and Videography
By your presence, you (on your own behalf and on behalf of any minors under your supervisions) consent to be filmed, taped, photographed, and otherwise recorded and agree that the producer may use, and grant others the right to use and modify, your (or any minor’s) voice, name, and filmed and/or recorded image and likeness, without limitation or restriction, and without payment to you (or any minors) of any kind, for all purposes, in and in connection with the events being recorded here or any other event or project (including without limitation, the advertising and promotion thereof), throughout the universe, in perpetuity, in any and all languages, formats, manner, media, devices, processes and technologies, now known or later devised. If you do not wish to give such consent, do not attend the event.
Are there VIP tickets or a way to select a preferred time for my photo opportunity with Tui T. Sutherland?
There will no VIP tickets for the photo opportunity with Tui T. Sutherland. You will be assigned your general timeslot for the photo op when you check-in.
Will Tui T. Sutherland sign my books that I bring to FanWing Fest?
To ensure that Tui T. Sutherland has time to meet as many FanWings as possible, she will NOT autograph books or other items during FanWing Fest.
What if I miss my designated time take a photograph with Tui T. Sutherland?
If you miss your timeslot to take a photograph with Tui T. Sutherland, designated by your wristband color, please speak with a volunteer to be given a new time. The photo op queuing will conclude at 4:30PM.
What are the FanWing Fest official hours?
FanWing Fest will open at 9:00AM. FanWing Fest will conclude promptly at 5:00PM.
Is FanWing Fest appropriate for all age groups?
FanWing Fest is open to all age groups! Some activities may require adult supervision or assistance for children under seven.
Can I be an exhibitor?
No.
Can I leave a gift for Tui T. Sutherland?
Tui T. Sutherland will not be accepting gifts at FanWing Fest.
