Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli
Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli is one of the world’s most influential figures in electronics and chip design automation. A professor at the University of California, Berkeley, he was among the pioneers of Electronic Design Automation, the field that made it possible to design increasingly complex and scalable integrated circuits.
He is the co-founder of Cadence Design Systems and Synopsys, two companies that have played a fundamental role in the history of semiconductors and are now key infrastructures for designing the microchips used in computers, smartphones, cars, medical devices, and artificial intelligence systems. His work has made a decisive contribution to building the technological foundations of the modern chip industry.
