The Power of Open Source: AI, Speed and Collaboration
What can motorsport tell us about the power of open source and AI? On race day, teams have a narrow window to turn fast-moving data into information they can act on. It is a practical demonstration of technology operating in a complex, high-pressure environment where speed, reliability and trust matter.
Using Red Hat’s work with Matt Stone Racing as a starting point, this session will explore how open-source technologies and AI can help organisations make better use of data when decisions matter. The discussion will examine why open source is increasingly important in an AI-driven world, including the opportunities it creates for innovation, transparency and flexibility, alongside emerging questions about security, vulnerabilities and resilience as technologies and capabilities advance into the future. Matt Stone will bring the user perspective, sharing first-hand insights into how data and technology support decision-making in motorsport and what lessons can be applied more broadly.
