RoboHack2026
RoboHack2026 is AI Team Robotics' flagship robotics hackathon, part of the ARENA series and running in our SIEGE format, an intensive 36-hour build experience bringing together engineers, designers, and programmers to create intelligent robotic systems.
Taking place at the EPFL Makerspace in Lausanne from May 8–10, 2026, the event gathers a highly selective group of 50 participants working in multidisciplinary teams to push the limits of both software and hardware.
Participants will have access to a fully equipped prototyping environment throughout the 36 hours: advanced robotic platforms including humanoids, quadrupeds, and robot kits, alongside 3D printers, mechanical workshops, soldering stations, and GPU compute resources.
The hackathon is structured around two challenges:
Software Challenge: Teams get access to a humanoid or quadruped platform and build on top of it using reinforcement learning, imitation learning, computer vision, control, and autonomy.
Hardware Challenge: Teams assemble, enhance, and deploy a robot kit from the ground up, working with real components, custom 3D-printed parts, new sensors, and mechanical upgrades.
What makes RoboHack unique is its emphasis on real-world constraints: no simulations, only physical systems. Over 36 hours, teams iterate, prototype, and deploy working robotic solutions in a deeply multidisciplinary setting combining AI, electronics, and mechanical engineering.
RoboHack2026 brings together some of the most driven and talented builders in robotics and AI, a high-intensity environment where ambitious ideas become real machines.
