Light Dao Salon: An Evening with Sarba Das, former Head of A24 & Media Res' Nonfiction divisions (Lisbon)
An Evening with Sarba Das
Storytelling as culture building — A Red Bridge Lisbon × Light Dao Salon
What does it take to create stories that shape how whole cultures see themselves — while staying grounded inside the machinery of Hollywood?
Red Bridge Lisbon and Light Dao are co-hosting an evening on the future of nonfiction media, storytelling as cultural infrastructure, and how a lifelong spiritual practice can become the operating system for navigating both corporate power and creative risk.
For founders and operators, this one lands close to home: story isn't decoration on top of a company — it's the mechanism through which meaning, memory, and growth actually travel. Few people understand that better than our guest.
Our guest
Sarba Das has spent two decades at the highest levels of film and television. She's the founder of 108 Pictures and now Head of Wild Awake Productions, and previously served as Head of Nonfiction at Media Res and Head of Creative for Documentaries at A24 — where she helped build a slate that included VAL, Stephen Curry: Underrated, The Deepest Breath, and the Emmy-winning The Sixth. Earlier work spans Sony Pictures Television, ABC, and the Peabody Award–winning High on the Hog. A Yale and NYU Tisch graduate, she has studied Odissi classical dance her whole life and approaches Vedic scripture and meditation with the same rigor she brings to a pitch meeting.
What we'll explore
Where nonfiction media is headed as attention, trust, and truth become the scarcest currencies in entertainment Why the best stories function as cultural infrastructure, not just content How to protect creative integrity inside rooms built for commercial outcomes How a daily practice of meditation and Vedic study becomes a discipline for decision-making, not an escape from it Why presence and non-attachment can be a real competitive advantage for founders and creatives
The evening includes a fireside-style conversation, audience Q&A, and live experiential practices focused on presence and grounded creative energy. This isn't about choosing between ambition and inner life — it's about building one from the other.
