The Peri-Apocalyptic Parenting Book Club
Does parenting during the peri-apocalypse feel lonely, terrifying, and overwhelming? That makes sense! Join together with other concerned parents to build community while empowering ourselves with education and deep discussion of some of the most important issues facing humanity. And no one will turn you away if you just need to have a good cry or scream. This is a post-reading book club, so do your best to read the book before the meeting, but even if you don't have time but just want to be in a room of other parents talking about these issues, feel free to drop on by. 20% discount off of purchases of the book at Reasonable Books in Lafayette.
The Peri-Apocalyptic Parenting Book Club meets monthly at the East Bay Therapist Community space at 251 Lafayette Circle, Suite 330, Lafayette, CA, 94549. Parents of any gender are welcome, as well as grandparents, aunts and uncles, and anyone who cares about children. Suggested donation is $10 per person, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Our first meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 22, 2026, from 6:30-8:00 PM.
We will be discussing the book Talk to Your Boys: 16 Conversations to Help Tweens and Teens Grow Into Confident, Caring Young Men by Joanna Schroeder and Christopher Pepper.
The Book Club is led by Nauser Wolfe, LMFT (Licensed with the BBS as Nicholas Reynolds, LMFT #123099). Nauser (rhymes with "saucer") is a local father, husband, linguist, child therapist, parent coach, and co-owner of SF Bay Play Therapy. He has been studying human communication from one angle or another for most of his life, and he's been involved in men's work for the past decade, participating in programs by the ManKind Project and the Rising Man Movement. Nauser identifies as half-Midwestern, half-Middle Eastern, half-blind, and half-convinced that we can save the world. He strives to live by his top three values of love, humor, and justice in all that he does.
