STEM Journeys: Women’s Experiences Across Study Levels
Welcome to Women of Aalto (WOA)! We are non-profit association at Aalto University that promotes equality, inclusivity, and sustainability. Our community brings together people from diverse backgrounds, creating a welcoming space where everyone can connect, learn, and grow.
Whether you are a Bachelor’s student, Master’s student, PhD researcher, postdoctoral researcher, professor, working professional, or simply interested in the topic, you are warmly welcome to join us.
🌱 Different Voices, Shared Space is an open discussion event where women in STEM from different stages of academia and industry will share their experiences, challenges, successes, and lessons learned along the way.
Together, we’ll explore what studying, researching, and building a career in STEM looks like across different paths and perspectives.
🫶 This event is designed to be informal, interactive, and welcoming. Rather than a traditional panel discussion, we aim to create a space where participants can openly ask questions, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
Our story tellers represent different stages of the STEM journey:
Bachelor’s level
Master’s level
PhD level
Alumni and professionals
They will share personal stories about their academic paths, challenges they have faced, and the strategies that helped them overcome obstacles and move forward.
💬 After the talks, participants will join small-group discussions on topics related to studying, research, careers, inclusion, and personal growth in STEM. This is a great opportunity to meet new people, exchange experiences, and contribute ideas for future Women of Aalto activities.

Women of Aalto is a volunteer-driven organization operating entirely through external grants and community efforts. Membership is free and open to everyone. English is our primary language, and we welcome people from all backgrounds and disciplines.
