About Event

Women from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, known by its Indigenous peoples as the Heart of the World, are co-hosting an intimate gathering during London Climate Action Week. Rising from Colombia's Caribbean coast, the Sierra is one of the planet's most biodiverse mountain ecosystems and home to ancestral knowledge systems that continue to guide the stewardship of land, water, and life.

ÚNA brings together Indigenous and non-Indigenous women, this circle offers an opportunity to explore women’s roles as protectors of biodiversity and ancestral knowledge. The format is simple yet powerful. Indigenous women will sit in the inner circle to share stories, perspectives, and wisdom carried across generations. The outer circle will hold space through witnessing and listening.

The gathering will take place within a gallery exhibition featuring the work of 'Yosokwi', an Indigenous multimedia art collective from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, whose visual storytelling reflects the same cosmovision that informs the circle.

Capacity is limited to fifty participants. Please register your interest to attend.

Light refreshments will be served.

This gathering is presented by ÚNA and supported by WWF Colombia.
