What is thinking? with Nicholas Paul
What does it mean to think in an age of thinking machines? What is the purpose of contemplation, and can we cultivate new practices and forms? What might we learn from philosophical traditions, literary imagination, and other ways of knowing as we navigate an ever-shifting world?
Join Nicholas Paul and Ashley Zhang for a fireside chat and an evening of spirited conversation. There will be small bites and libations; just come with an inquisitive mind.
This is the first event in The Art of Being Human, a series by Imbue for the shared exploration of human questions in our technological age.
Nicholas Paul is the founder and principal of Still Thinking—a new firm advancing a new field of practice for thinking near the technological frontier. He was a central figure at The Long Now Foundation for nearly a decade, holding a number of key leadership positions, including Director of Strategy and Director of Development.
Ashley Zhang is the Storyteller at Imbue, where she works to shape the narratives and norms around the role of technology in our lives. She writes the blog Soft Power, exploring what it means to live a flourishing human life in the age of AI.
