Series A Biotech Investor & Founder Breakfast

[Attendance is intentionally limited to a curated group of 40 people. If your registration is accepted, please ensure you’ll be able to attend.]

Join a select group of biotech founders, investors, and industry leaders for an invite only breakfast focused specifically on financing a Series A for therapeutic assets and platforms.

The centerpiece of the breakfast will be an interactive conversation between funding experts and the audience about the different avenues available to companies approaching a Series A, how those options can fit together, and how founders can develop a financing strategy that makes sense for their science and stage of development.

An Audience Led Investor Discussion

This will not follow the format of a traditional investor panel. Daniel Dacey will moderate the conversation, with questions coming primarily from attendees.

Panelists include:

Brock Reeve - Founder and CEO, Eos BioInnovation

Tao Fang - Associate Director and Senior Associate, Merck Research Lab Ventures Fund

David Zhu - Founding Partner, Kendall Capital Partners

The discussion will focus specifically on the Series A considerations facing therapeutic asset companies, platform companies, and companies combining both approaches. This includes how different sources of capital evaluate the science, development strategy, platform potential, milestones, and overall opportunity, as well as the different funding avenues companies can consider as they build toward and execute a Series A.

During registration, attendees will have the opportunity to submit a question for the investor panel and choose whether they would like to be identified or remain anonymous. Questions can also be asked live throughout the event.

When appropriate, Daniel may ask the person who submitted a question to expand on it or provide additional context, allowing investors and attendees to dig deeper and build on the discussion.

The goal is to create an actual dialogue between the investors and the room around the fundraising decisions therapeutics and platform companies are facing.

Why We’re Bringing This Group Together

Fundraising conversations are often most useful when founders can ask specific questions about the decisions their companies are facing and hear perspectives from people who approach biotech financing from different angles.

This breakfast is intended to create that opportunity in a small group setting, while also giving attendees time to learn what others are building and develop relationships that can extend beyond the event through introductions, partnerships, funding, or investment.

Breakfast

Food will include breakfast burritos, french toast bites, and fruit. Drinks will include coffee, tea, water, and canned lattes.

Hosts

Hosted by Daniel Dacey (Dovetail Biopartners/Mindvyne), Julia Miklasevich (Fidelity Private Shares), and Vitaliy Schafer (Leader Bank). This breakfast is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen connections across the biotech ecosystem and create opportunities for meaningful conversations between founders, investors, and industry leaders.

Sponsors

Fidelity Private Shares and Leader Bank are co-sponsoring the breakfast.
