The Challenge
Build a working app with any AI coding agent. Use Kane CLI to prove it works. Ship by 6 PM.
That's all there is to it. Build a tool, a dashboard, a game, an internal utility, a strange experiment, or the side project that's been sitting in your notes app since spring. Just follow two rules:
Kane CLI has to verify your app. At minimum, run it at demo time. The teams that win will go further and put Kane inside the agent: a hook that runs Kane on every save, an agent that reads Kane's NDJSON output and keeps fixing until the flows pass, or a spec that compiles straight into Kane flows.
Your app has to run, ship and survive a live demo. Judges want to see it working in front of them.
Come solo or bring a team of up to four. Bring your laptop and your stack. We'll cover food, coffee, credits and help on the floor.

Web App: The fastest route from idea to verified. Kane CLI works on web apps right out of the box.
Mobile App: Build for iOS or Android and watch Kane test it on real devices through TestMu AI's device cloud.
Wildcard: Anything goes, as long as it ships and Kane can verify it.

Before you arrive
Bring the agent you already use. CLI agents, IDE agents, chat agents, MCP setups or one you built yourself all work. Install it and sign in before you get here.
Install Kane CLI and run one flow. Run

FAQs
Do I have to build with OpenAI? Participants receive $250 in OpenAI API credits.
Which AI agent should I use? Whichever one you already build with. Terminal agents, IDE agents, browser agents, custom agents, MCP servers and multi-agent setups all count. Kane CLI is the one required layer, and everything above it is your call.
Which other AI tools can I use? Anything that helps you ship. There's no approved-tools list, so bring your own models, frameworks and scaffolding.
Do I need a paid Kane CLI plan? No. Every builder gets 3 months of KaneAI Pro, starting on event day.
Can I bring a project I've already started? Yes, but the Kane CLI integration has to happen on the day. At demo time, show what existed at 10 AM and what you built after that. Judges will weight the new work.
Can I work solo? Absolutely. Solo builders are welcome, and so are teams of up to four.
Do I need to know Playwright or Selenium? No. Kane CLI works in plain English: describe the flow and Kane runs it. If you know Playwright, the built-in export is a nice bonus for your writeup.
What if my project breaks during demos? Test hard before 5 PM, because submissions lock at the deadline and you can't push fixes during demos. If your app depends on a third-party service, keep a recorded run or a backup deploy ready so judges still see what you built.
