Ethereum Security Day in CDMX

Ethereum Security Day by ETH Cinco de Mayo brings builders, researchers, and cypherpunks together for a focused conversation on protecting Ethereum at every layer. Set in the heart of Mexico City, enjoy a full day of co-working while attending different sessions exploring how to code, cryptographic resistance, privacy, and digital sovereignty shaping the future of secure onchain systems. Expect practical discussion around OPSEC, writing safer smart contracts & dApps, spotting vulnerabilities before they become exploits, and creating tools that make security a built-in part of development.

This event is for people who care about the foundations behind resilient Ethereum infrastructure, from secure coding practices to the principles that defend open systems. The goal is simple, make security easier to understand, easier to apply, and harder to ignore. If you believe code is speech, encryption is defense, and privacy is essential to freedom, join ETH Cinco de Mayo for a thoughtful session on building Ethereum security that works in the real world.

AGENDA (15 talks & Workshops TBA on Jun 16th)

10:00 AM - ETH CDM Co-Work Opens

10:30 AM - Breakfast

11:30 AM - Fuzz & Unit tests on Smart Contracts
Unit tests validate specific actions with fixed data. Fuzz tests bombard contracts with thousands of random inputs to find hidden logic flaws and exploits. Both are complementary and essential pillars to ensure smart contract security.
Kevin Padilla (Jistro), Co-founder EVVM

12:00 PM - Funding cybersecurity in the AIpocalypse. From the worst hack to a hope for Ethereum.
A founding perspective from TheDAO fund on recovering 75k ETH, surviving Ethereum’s worst hack, and why funding cybersecurity is the ultimate defense against imminent AI-driven threats.
Cotabe, TheDAO Security Fund

12:30 PM - Tips for creating more secure Smart Contracts.
Technical review of EVM vulnerabilities: reentrancy, cross-chain risks, and flash loan attacks. Explores advanced mitigation using static analysis, fuzzing, and secure state management.
Mike Bello, Founder SecLat Security

1:00 PM - Walking in the Dark Forest
Blockchain has evolved and so have your security practices. Learn how to prevent you or your company from becoming potential victims.
Ariiellus, Founder Kairos Research

1:30 PM - 30' Lunch Time 🌮🥤

2:00 PM - How Ethereum Ships Secure Upgrades
This presentation follows the complete lifecycle of an Ethereum protocol upgrade, from research and EIP drafting through client implementation, devnets, testing, All Core Developers meetings, and secured mainnet activation.
Pooja Ranjan, ECH Institute

2:30 PM - Post Quantim Transactions in Ethereum: An Overview
Quantum computers break the ECDSA signatures behind every Ethereum account, but you can go post-quantum today. This talk offers a tour of the avilable hash-based post quantum signatures currently available and running on smart contracts today.
Richard Carback, Founder Quip Network

3:00 PM - Workshop: Practical methods to improve the security of our devices, laptops and accounts
Practical blueprint for personal OpSec. Learn modern, actionable tactics to fortify your laptops, devices, and accounts against sophisticated real-world threats.
Roman, Quantstamp

3:30 PM - Safe Blockchain Data Science
At Wavy Node, we detect malicious transactions and blockchain behavior patterns trained to avoid false positives and data falsification. Our parameterized AI agents interpret this data, translating it into natural language to make key decisions for companies with EVM-compatible infrastructure.
Ale Ramo, Founder Wavy Node

4:00 PM - Apeiron Protocol for Self-Sovergnnity Tokenization
Apeiron is a self-sovereign token protocol separating state, policy, and execution. Its 3-contract architecture: ConsoleStorage (critical state), Console (user compliance), and Cartridge (modular logic), isolates trust domains to securely manage assets "Signs" and resist token spoofing.
Germán Abal, Author EIP

4:30 PM - Virtual Blockchains
The next layer of Ethereum security and scalability isn't another chain. It's a substrate where many independent virtual blockchains run as smart contracts on top of the EVM, each with its own rules for accounts, gas, tokens, permissions, signatures, and compliance.
EVVM Team

5:00 PM - Closing Cocktail
