About Event

From Nairobi National Park to our forests, wetlands, trees and urban green spaces, Kenyans are increasingly being forced to ask what it really means for a place to be protected.

On 3 September 2026, Africa Uncensored and Nairobi Garage are bringing together citizens, conservationists, climate activists, researchers, government agencies and other interested parties for a live town hall on the future of Kenya’s environment.

We will examine what is happening to protected spaces, who makes the decisions, how environmental approvals and public participation work, who should be held accountable, and what citizens can do when the places meant to be protected come under threat.

This will be a highly participatory conversation, with space for audience questions, community experiences, solutions, and direct engagement with the people and institutions involved.
