About Event

Join us for a special conversation with economist, researcher, and author Corinne Low about what it really means for women to “have it all.”

As part of The Nest’s Working Motherhood series and The Nest Book Club, we’re so excited to welcome Corinne Low, economist, researcher, and author of Having It All.

Drawing on economics, data, and research on women’s lives, Having It All looks at the choices and tradeoffs women face across career, partnership, motherhood, money, and time—and challenges the idea that the answer is simply getting better at “balance.” Instead, Corinne examines the systems and incentives shaping women’s decisions and offers a new way to think about building a life around what we actually value.

The conversation will be moderated by Jessica Pallay, Senior Director of Marketing & Communications at Vivvi, and will explore topics including:

  • Why “having it all” can feel impossible—and what the data tells us about why

  • Motherhood, ambition, and the career tradeoffs women are often forced to make

  • The economics of time, and how to think about where we spend our limited time and energy

  • Partnership, household labor, childcare, and the mental load

  • How motherhood can change the way we think about success, work, and identity

  • Negotiating for what we need at work and at home

  • How to make more intentional choices when there is no perfect option

  • What it might actually look like to build a life around your own values rather than someone else’s definition of success

There will also be plenty of time for questions from the community, so come ready to join the conversation.

We highly recommend you read the book beforehand, but that's not a requirement to attend. Whether you’ve already devoured it, are halfway through, or are hearing about it for the first time, this conversation is for you. ❤️

About the Series

This event brings together two beloved parts of The Nest community:

The Working Motherhood Series, led by Nest members Monica and Hannah, creates space for honest conversations about navigating careers, identity, childcare, ambition, partnership, and motherhood.

The Nest Book Club, led by Fanny, brings members together around books that spark conversation, connection, and new ways of thinking about this stage of life.

We’re so excited to bring the two together for this special event.
