How To Manage Data & AI Responsibly

​As data and AI systems increasingly shape decisions in governance, research, and development, understanding how to use them responsibly is more important than ever. This workshop explores the principles of responsible data informed consent, privacy, fairness, and accountability, with a particular focus on contexts across Africa.

​Participants will examine how bias and exclusion emerge throughout the AI lifecycle, reflect on the relationship between technology and power, and develop a practical, values-based lens for evaluating and implementing data and AI systems that are ethical and inclusive.
