Joel is currently Head of AI and Innovation at Stash, where he leads strategy and execution around next-generation AI capabilities in consumer finance. Over his nine-year tenure at Stash, Joel has held senior engineering leadership roles, rising from Lead Android Engineer through Principal and Senior Principal Engineer—before taking on his current innovation mandate in 2024.
In addition to his work at Stash, Joel serves as an Advisor at Domify AI, helping guide early-stage AI initiatives. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly four years at Goldman Sachs as a Technology Analyst and Associate, focused on supervisory control systems, risk software, and infrastructure development. He also contributed as a developer on clinical research applications and worked in network systems administration.
Joel combines a deep technical foundation in engineering with a track record of building and scaling AI-driven products for both highly regulated financial institutions and consumer-facing fintech platforms. Based in New York City, he is passionate about making finance accessible and shaping how AI can responsibly transform financial services.
