Civic Socials: Dreams, Joys, and Needs
Going to the Garden presents Civic Socials: Casual, connection focused events that use art as a tool to build self, neighbor-to-neighbor, and community values.
Connect with neighbors on their journeys to building thriving selves and communities through creative and impactful events. Each gathering will highlight art in its many forms (crafting, food, music, literature, etc.) and provide opportunities for neighbors to support one another's growth and/or support a member of the greater community.
We will be in our reserved park space for the duration of the event - feel free to stay however long works for you!
This month's prompt is: Dreams, Joys, and Needs! As a neighbor in our garden you will:
Use self-guided activities to explore your most fulfilling goals, sources of joy, and needs - and the action steps needed to honor them. Then, create a postcard and write a letter to yourself to highlight key takeaways.
✨Have your sealed envelope mailed to you in 2-3 weeks as a fun boost of motivation!
On a neighbor-to-neighbor level, collaborate on the Community Garden board and share your dreams, joys and needs, thoughtful messages, etc. The goal is to find ways to support and uplift one another!
Finally, empower the greater community by writing notes to go into purses for the "Pass the Purse Please" Program at I Can Make a Difference. Learn more about how you can further support this local organization at the event!(https://www.icanmakeadifference.org)
