Event Overview
When most people think about diversity, they tend to focus on a narrow set of categories. But human diversity is far broader and more meaningful than that.
Each of us carries a unique combination of experiences, perspectives, skills, identities, and ways of thinking. When societies learn to recognize, value, and integrate this diversity, they tend to become more innovative, adaptable, and prosperous. When they close themselves off, history shows that stagnation and decline often follow.
In this September gathering of the Austin Enlightenment Society, we’ll explore what diversity really means, why it matters at both the individual and societal level, and what lessons history can teach us about the benefits of embracing diverse ideas and perspectives.
