Heart Dance @ The Cove, Laguna Beach
THE DANCE
Heart Dance is your opportunity to connect with and express the deepest part of who you are through dance and movement.
Dancers and non-dancers equally welcome. In this authentic movement class, it's not about form or looking good. It's about tapping into your own depths and moving with your own nature.
This is a substance-free practice.
THE MUSIC
Ryan has curated an eclectic playlist with a clear dance beat, spanning genres from pop to spiritual beats and EDM. Ryan swiftly switches up genres; so if you're not feeling a song, you'll likely love the next one.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The first 10 minutes of class is a short Heart Meditation followed by instruction on how to tap into your heart of hearts on the dance floor. Then, an hour of dancing followed by a 10-minute sharing circle.
Please be on time. Factor in about 10 minutes to find parking and settle into our beautiful space. Invitation to wear loose comfortable clothing.
REGISTRATION
Register here before attending class. The Cove is a wonderful, intimate setting. Tickets are limited due to the dance floor size. We believe the spots will fill fast.
Sliding scale: $25-35 means you're abundant and want to see more offerings like this on a more regular basis. $20 means you'd like to give more but your current circumstances don't allow it for now.

THE TEACHER
Ryan McNeely discovered ecstatic dance and authentic movement while studying at UC Berkeley. He found these non-structured forms of dance were the perfect counterbalance to his rigorous academic work. Through this practice, he began to connect profoundly with a deeper part of himself. During this time, he was also practicing and studying chakra meditation with a master of the heart. His spiritual path flowered from there as he integrated elements of Tai Chi and Chi Gong into his movement practice.
Ryan's ecstatic dance path has led him from the urban floors of the Bay Area to the sacred red rocks of Sedona, and onto the birthplace of the movement at Kalani Retreat in Puna, Hawaii.
"Fundamentally, all humans are peace and joy at their spiritual core. This part of us simply gets covered over by the heavy-thinking mind. There are many ways to reconnect with your true nature; for me, it has been the complementary practices of sitting meditation and dance that have consistently brought me home to my heart. I'm so grateful to all of my teachers and to the wisdom traditions that have supported my awakening." ~ Ryan
