Summer 2026 Student Volunteer Program - Info Session #1

​​​​Develop for Good is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports teams of diverse college students as they work on tech projects under industry mentorship for other nonprofits. The organization seeks to empower the tech leaders of tomorrow to learn by doing meaningful work with real-world impact. Join us for an informational session about our Student Volunteer Program!

​We'll walk through what students actually do when they work on real projects for nonprofits tackling education, health, and social justice challenges. You'll learn about available roles like Product Manager, Designer, Engineer, and Program Lead, and how the program helps you build portfolio-ready work while gaining industry mentorship. We'll share inspiring examples of past student projects that created real change and help you understand what makes this different from typical volunteer work - like gaining hands-on experience building real software solutions with guidance from industry mentors, all while working flexibly around your schedule at just 5-10 hours per week, fully remote.

​This session is designed to help you figure out if Develop for Good is right for you. We'll cover the program timeline from application to completion, who should apply (college students and recent grads with less than 2 years post-grad experience are welcome, and no prior experience is required for many roles!), why you should consider applying, and what reviewers look for in strong applications. You'll walk away with practical tips on how to make your application stand out and a clear understanding of what to expect throughout the program.
