What employers actually think about ICHRAs: an expert interview with Paul Fronstin, Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI)
ICHRAs are one of the more dramatic innovations in employer health benefits in years. There's been lots of funding and fanfare, but as best as we can tell from the limited data points we see, only limited uptake.
A new survey from EBRI and Morgan Health of employers on the subject gives us a looks at employer awareness and interest in the burgeoning arrangement: one in three employers currently offering benefits say they're likely to adopt an ICHRA in the next two years, yet only about 2% offer one today, most who express interest are still just "evaluating," and many can't correctly describe what an ICHRA actually is.
Paul Fronstin, Ph.D., Director of Health Benefits Research at EBRI joins HTN to walk through what the survey found and what to make of it.
