​The built environment is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions -- 30% of global carbon emissions.  Today, 62% of mid-market commercial buildings require upgrades, with an estimated $800B+ financing shortfall.   The lack of upgrades leave asset value at risk of a “brown” discount, keeping operating costs high and valuations depressed.   To avoid the worst effects of climate change, buildings need to dramatically reduce their energy use intensity, accelerating the work by three times.  What can be done to accelerate investment to drive better outcomes for owners, investors, and the climate?
