About Event

Join us for a relaxed breakfast conversation hosted by Hattie Willis (GuessWorks) and Martin Mason (TalentMapper), bringing together L&D and People leaders who are thinking seriously about hiring for potential and building skills-first organisations.

To keep the conversation open and useful, we'll be following Chatham House rules, so while ideas and insights can be shared afterwards, comments won't be attributed to individuals or their organisations.

Martin is CEO at TalentMapper, a skills-based talent management platform that helps organisations map the skills they already have, spot the gaps, and open up internal mobility and career progression. Hattie runs GuessWorks, delivering coaching, training and facilitation for corporates, universities and accelerators.

We'll explore questions like:

  • Where do you hire and where do you train? How do you spot the real talent gaps in your organisation?

  • How do you hire for potential, interview for it, and support people once they're in, rather than defaulting to ten years' experience?

  • Skills-first or job titles? How do you surface the talent you already have and make internal mobility and career progression work in practice?

  • With a five-year skills horizon that's anyone's guess, which transferable skills are worth investing in now?

Who is this for?

Heads of L&D, Learning & Development Directors, Heads of Talent, People & Culture leads, and anyone responsible for skills strategy in a scaling organisation.

Places are limited to keep the conversation intimate. If this sounds like your kind of morning, we'd love to have you.

What's included?

Breakfast and coffee in the private dining room at Rail House Victoria, plus a conversation you'll actually want to be part of.
