TechWalk | Angel Island Perimeter Loop
Hola comunidad, come out Saturday 11/14 for our final tech walk of the year. Let's connect in nature as we take the ferry out to Angel Island and explore one of the most historic places in the Bay.
We'll be walking the Perimeter Loop around the largest natural island in the Bay Area. It's about 5.5 miles at a moderate pace, no big hills, and you get views of the city, the Golden Gate, and the whole bay the entire way around. Before our hike we'll stop at the Angel Island Café to grab a coffee or snack.
Learn more about the island here: https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=468

Where we're meeting
San Francisco Ferry Building, 1 Ferry Building, San Francisco, CA 94111. The Golden Gate Ferry to Angel Island usually leaves from Gate B behind the Ferry Building, but double-check the signs when you get there. Please be there by 10 am. The ferry leaves at 10:15 am sharp, and the gates close a minute before, so it won't wait for us.
Coming from Marin?
You can also catch the Angel Island Tiburon Ferry from 21 Main Street in Tiburon. Take the 10 am boat so you’re on the island when we land at 10:45 am, and meet us at the Angel Island Café. This ferry is separate from the SF ferry, so book your ticket in advance at angelislandferry.com.
The plan:
10:00 am, meet up at the SF Ferry Building 10:15 am, ferry leaves for Angel Island
10:45 am, we land and stop at the Angel Island Café after the café, we start walking the loop
3:20 pm, ferry leaves Angel Island
3:50 pm, back in San Francisco
Getting on the ferry
Use your Clipper card, it's $20 round trip ($10 each way). Or grab a paper ticket from the ticket machines at the SF Ferry Building before you board.
What to bring
Comfy shoes, water, layers (it gets windy out on the bay even when it's sunny in the city), sunscreen, and some snacks or whatever you may need to be comfortable
If anything changes with the ferry or the weather, we'll post an update here. See you out there!
