About Event

Atlassian and Konnectile bring to you "Beyond Vibe Coding": an honest evening with Sydney's engineering leaders on what changes when AI writes the code. Wednesday 17 February 2027, Atlassian Sydney.

AI coding tools have moved from experiment to everyday practice faster than most engineering organisations could adapt.

The term "vibe coding" — coined by Andrej Karpathy in early 2025 — gave engineers permission to generate without reasoning. By 2026, the bill has come due. 41% of all global code is now AI-generated. Security vulnerabilities in AI-generated code sit at 45%. The era of prompt-and-ship is ending. What comes next is Agentic Engineering: the discipline of designing AI systems that plan, execute, verify, and iterate across entire development workflows under rigorous human oversight. This event is a reckoning — not a celebration. It asks the engineering leaders who actually ship production systems:

What do engineers need to genuinely understand, own, and adapt to in an agentic world?

The three questions this event answers

Q1 What separates vibe coding from agentic engineering in production?

Q2 What is the new job description of a software engineer in 2027 and beyond?

Q3 How do engineering leaders build cultures that evolve, not just adopt?

41% of all global code is AI-generated" is a widely recycled figure with weak sourcing. The 45% figure comes from 2025 testing of AI-generated code samples, which is not the same claim as "45% of AI-generated code contains vulnerabilities.

Why attend

Practitioners, not presenters.
Hear from people shipping production systems and making real decisions about AI in engineering. No hype. No vendor theatre. Just what is working, what isn't, and what they are learning.

A room worth being in.
Limited places, reviewed registrations and a senior audience of CTOs, engineering leaders, principal and staff engineers, architects and senior technical practitioners.

The conversations that matter.
Explore how AI is changing engineering teams, developer roles, architecture, quality, security, productivity and the skills organisations will need next.

Time to connect.
Structured networking with peers facing the same decisions, challenges and opportunities.

Speaker Biographies

Aboo Azarnoush CTO / Founder · PAP & Buildhaus.ai · Sydney

Aboo Azarnoush is a Sydney-based technology leader with over 25 years of experience architecting enterprise software platforms. His career spans roles as CEO and Lead Developer at East Golden Star Co. (2004–2010), Senior Developer and Software Systems Architect / Associate Research Fellow at the University of Wollongong (2010– 2015), and CTO-level leadership across Bet Technology, Palmerbet, and Yaama Tech. He is currently Founder of PAP and known as a hands-on engineering leader who builds and scales high-performing teams. Described by former colleagues as "one of the best leaders... his problem-solving ability and grooming skills enable members of his team to learn and flourish,"

Aboo brings a rare combination of deep technical architecture and practitioner empathy to discussions of AI-era engineering culture. He has previously facilitated Agentic AI workshops for founders, bringing lived experience of deploying autonomous engineering systems, making him a natural anchor for this conversation.

Nelly Sattari Senior Engineering Leader · Atlassian · Sydney

Nelly Sattari is a Senior Engineering Leader at Atlassian, leading teams that build Kubernetes infrastructure and cloud platforms at scale. With a background in software engineering and technical leadership, she combines hands-on experience with a passion for growing people and building effective teams. An international speaker and mentor, Nelly uses storytelling and practical examples to make technical and leadership challenges approachable. Based in Sydney, she has spent over a decade supporting inclusive tech communities, co-organising events and facilitating technical leadership workshops.

She is a Microsoft Azure MVP (consecutive years from 2019-2025) and the only female engineer to hold that recognition across all of ANZ. A prolific public speaker, Nelly has appeared at NDC Sydney, YOW! Conference, ServerlessDays ANZ, and NDC Oslo (where she ran a two-day engineering management workshop). She is deeply engaged with Platform Engineering meetups hosted at Atlassian's Sydney offices, making her a natural bridge between the event's content and its venue. Her perspective on engineering culture, mentorship, and the leadership of technical teams under AI transition is central to this event's intellectual core.
