We're so back, baby.
We're having a salon and you're obviously invited and we're excited about getting back to being with you all on January 19th at fabulous queer bar Oberon right off the Bedford L stop on Monday from 7pm-10pm for a special relaunch. Our lovely friend Kelsey who made cakes for our 1st bday is making cake once more for what we're dubbing our relaunch salon - celebrating being back as a media company in tandem with our live salons.
This salon features a larger variety of art forms under the classical umbrella than we've had before with opera singer Anchal Dhir, flutist Eva Ding, and violinist Alexandria Hill, with pianist Ruiran Xun, along with tarot readings by Sam Danish if you're feeling you need a little guidance to set 2026 on the right path.
We will be selecting a mutual aid fund to help families impacted by ICE in Minneapolis, raising funds by raffling off one of the notorious RAGE MAKES ME FEEL PRETTY T-SHIRT as seen by my queen Hayley Williams of Paramore and icon Marisa Dabice of Mannequin Pussy (to be ordered at the salon if you win so it goes right to your door and in the size you want from size XS-XL). These mutual aid funds have been proving to quickly reach their goals each day within 24-48 hours so we will be selecting one to support Sunday evening and will announce at the salon.

A note from Salon Avec Moi founder
Hi, my name's Karlye Whitt. I'm an ex/recovered opera singer currently in Brooklyn, NY, an employee of the non-profit performing arts, mother to a fluffy cloud of a cat named Cappi, with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Masters in Performing Arts Admin. During my time on both sides of the table in the opera industry I witnessed the disconnect of community and the classical arts and the individuals that world caters and bends itself to. Meanwhile my friends and I indulged in our vices and sang to our own salons at weddings, graduation celebrations, and get togethers. A safe place to run a piece for the first time, a place to sing a role you would never actually perform, to be nostalgic, to be together in the moment. I hope you walk away from the salon feeling like you belong because that's how our salons have always felt to me.
