From Sales Enablement to Buyer Enablement: Why Helping Buyers Buy Is the Next Growth Lever
B2B organisations have spent years equipping their sellers with better playbooks, battlecards and messaging. Yet deals still stall, shrink or quietly disappear, and "no decision" remains the most common outcome in complex sales. The reason is simple: the conversations that decide a purchase happen inside the buying group, where your sellers are rarely present.
In this talk, I will explain why sales enablement alone can't solve this problem and how organisations can make the shift to buyer enablement. Drawing on work with companies where buying cycles are long and committees are large. I will introduce a practical four-stage approach: understanding the whole buying group, diagnosing where doubt sets in, equipping buyers with the confidence to justify the decision internally, and facilitating consensus across stakeholders.
I will also show why buyer enablement can't stop at the signature. When sales, customer success, product and operations don't share one view of the buyer, promises made during the sale become gaps after it, and trust erodes before value is delivered.
Attendees will leave with a clear case for the shift, a simple way to audit their current enablement assets, and a practical starting point that doesn't require overhauling everything at once.
