About Event

Microfinance works best when it is part of a broader strategy that helps families build capabilities, dignity, and agency. This session will explore how Poverty Stoplight technology can help microfinance institutions move beyond repayment rates alone and focus on whether families are measurably improving their lives.

In conversation with Larry Reed of Thrive Lights, Luis Fernando Sanabria of Fundación Paraguaya will be joined by Smita Bhatnagar and Salma Kagadi of SEWA in India to discuss how digital tools, household-level data, and family-centered coaching can strengthen microfinance programs. Together, they will explore how institutions can better understand clients’ multidimensional realities, support more targeted action, and use technology to make financial inclusion more closely connected to poverty alleviation and long-term wellbeing.

This session will be held in English with simultaneous live Spanish translation.
