KRÄFTSKIVA 2026 | A Swedish Late Summer Celebration in Mexico City
Every year, as summer slowly comes to an end, Swedes gather around long tables illuminated by lanterns to celebrate one of Sweden's most beloved traditions: the Kräftskiva, or crayfish party.
The first weekends of August traditionally mark the beginning of crayfish season in Sweden — a time when friends and families gather to celebrate the final magical weeks of summer. This year, we're bringing that tradition to the heart of Polanco.
Join us for an evening of Swedish food, aquavit, songs, laughter and community as we recreate the atmosphere of a traditional Swedish late summer celebration — complete with crayfish, snapsvisor and long communal tables.
Whether you're Swedish, Scandinavian, part of a Swedish-Mexican family, an expat, a friend of Sweden, or simply curious to experience one of Sweden's most beloved traditions, you're warmly welcome.

🇸🇪 About Kräftskiva
For many Swedes, Kräftskiva represents something more than a dinner.
It is a celebration of friendship, togetherness and the final magical weeks of summer before autumn arrives.
It is noisy, joyful, slightly chaotic and deeply Swedish.
We're excited to share this tradition with Mexico City.
Skål and welcome! 🇸🇪🥂
