Boundaries as Design: Supporting Yourself So You Can Support Others
About
This workshop invites research, design, and strategy professionals to rethink boundaries. Boundaries are not rigid rules or personal shortcomings, but a design practice- one that can be prototyped, refined, and strengthened over time.
Many practitioners experience fear around setting limits: fear of being seen as difficult, of losing work, of being laid off, or of letting others down. This workshop acknowledges the real constraints of professional roles while centering a critical question: Are we meeting the needs of the people we want to serve, when the person we need to serve first is ourselves?
What You'll Leave With
Using design metaphors (creative briefs, wireframes, recipes, AI prompts), real-world examples, and interactive practice, participants will develop clearer, more sustainable boundaries around time, energy, communication, and responsibility.
