Art as Flourishing: Waycrafting, Agency, and the Expression of Self
Art is not decoration. It is humanity's oldest technology for transformation.
Evelisa Genova — artist, Harvard M.Ed., Executive Director of DrawBridge and Curator of The Art of San Francisco — presents her thesis on art as a practice of flourishing. Drawing on her 7 Mindset Tools of the Arts (holding contradiction, embracing the unexpected, listening across difference, powerful vulnerability), Evelisa explores how artistic practice builds the agency and authentic self-expression that organizations desperately need. Waycrafting — the practice of forging one's own path through creative engagement — is not a metaphor. It is a practice. And this session will show you what it looks like.

Hosted by Compassion 2.0 & Human+Tech Week
This week is hosted by DrawBridge at 2 Embarcadero Center. For nearly 40 years, DrawBridge has brought free, trauma-informed expressive arts programs to children across the Bay Area — many experiencing housing instability — meeting kids where they are and staying long enough to matter. We are guests in their home. drawbridge.org
