Uploading for Structural AI Safety: happy hour

​p(doom) went mainstream this week. There is no better time to be working on technical paths that might give us a fighting chance, on short timelines, to remain active participants in whatever comes next.

​Uploading is one such path, but it still sits mostly outside the mainstream AI safety conversation. A small group in the Bay is working on what it would actually take to make it viable: faithful emulation, brain preservation, substrate independence, and the safety questions around preserving human agency, values, and continuity.

​We’re making a regular place for those people to meet, grab drinks, and chat. The inaugural happy hour is this Tuesday!

​We're expecting people from frontier labs, neurotech companies, AI safety orgs, and other people interested in the space.
