Build with Gemma 4: Hack 4 Bodas!
Welcome to Build with Gemma Uganda: Hack 4 Bodas, a fast-paced, 1-day in-person Kaggle hackathon where builders will get hands-on with Gemma 4 to prototype practical AI tools for Kampala’s boda boda mobility ecosystem.
This hackathon is not about polished, production-ready code. It is a sprint to experiment, learn, break things, and build useful prototypes that respond to a real urban challenge: how can AI support safer rides, trusted trips, better rider livelihoods, and smarter city mobility?
Teams will use Gemma 4 to build assistive tools for riders, passengers, boda associations, delivery workers, or city stakeholders. Ideas may include local-language safety assistants, rider training tools, incident-report summarizers, passenger communication helpers, maintenance or savings assistants, and dashboards that turn community feedback into useful insights.
The theme is grounded in SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, with links to road safety, decent work, and inclusive urban transport. Bring your laptop, your boldest ideas, and your local insight. Team up, hack a prototype, and show what open models can do for Kampala.
