The Environment and National Security

​This event will share and discuss new findings from Oxford’s ‘The Environment and National Security Project’. Convened by the Agile Initiative at the Oxford Martin School, this high-speed project is co-created with policy makers from across government to explore the urgent evidence needs and uses in response to the cascading climate and biosphere emergency and its implications for national security in and beyond the UK.

​Featuring a series of flash talks from senior academics about this brand-new research, followed by a chaired panel discussion and Q&A, the event will bring together the Oxford team with policy makers involved with the project. Areas to be discussed include critical natural infrastructure, supply chain vulnerabilities, food and energy security, migration, weaponisation of nature, and psychological resilience.
