BYO BOOK

​Join us on the LIC waterfront for a relaxing Monday evening of reading and connecting with others.

​BYO Book is a free, welcoming gathering for anyone who enjoys a good book — or has been meaning to get back into reading. We read side by side, then come together to share what stood out to us: characters, themes, ideas, questions, or reflections inspired by our books.

​Bring whatever you're reading: the novel on your nightstand, the nonfiction you keep meaning to finish, poetry that stays with you, a library book due this week, or an old favorite worth revisiting. There's no assigned reading. This is a space to slow down, be present, and enjoy the simple pleasure of reading alongside others.

​What to bring:

• ​Your current book (any format)

• ​Snacks & beverages of your choice

• ​A picnic blanket or towel to sit on

• ​A curious mind

​(We'll have a limited number of lanterns to share as the sun sets.)

​Schedule:

• ​6:30–6:45 — Welcome & introductions

• ​6:45–7:30 — Quiet reading as the sun sets over Manhattan

• ​7:30–8:00 — Group sharing & conversation

​

​We'll read together, then gather to share what stood out to us. Ask a question, offer a reflection, or follow an unexpected tangent.

​Come on your own or bring a friend. We hope to see you this summer!
