Confluence is where two rivers meet. The water doesn't merge cleanly. It churns, looks unstable, and only settles somewhere downstream into something more powerful than either river was on its own.
Communion is what happens when separate things agree to be changed by each other. Especially people.
This show looks through both lenses. Some pieces sit in tension with one another. Others interlock in harmony. The work gathered here is about the diversity of materials, of hands, of histories, and of methods that make confluence and communion possible in the first place. Give the tension and the harmony some time in your mind, your heart, and your spirit.
How to engage with this exhibition
Look for the reflections. Look for where one work answers another across the room. Then sit with three questions:
Where do you see confluence or communion between organic and inorganic materials? Between others and yourself? Between you and yourself?
Why do you think that?
Share it with someone standing close by.
We are stronger where we meet. We are also more exposed there. This show sits in that exact place and asks you to stay a while.
