Scales Atelier- Mother, Father, Sister, Brother
This is the 2nd year Atelier Scales (Devon Pavlovits) is curating and hosting an art + design exhibition for LADW.
It's a 5000 sq ft loft from 1908 and it will be filled with stunning art and design pieces. Wood lighting & vessels, phenomenal blown glass, fiber art, mixed media, large scale paintings, and some wild furniture. There will be a jewelry shop as well.
All pieces made by members of one family. The mother (fiber art), father (wood lighting & vessels), sister (furniture, large paintings, jewelry), and brother (blown glass vessels).
💐🌿 There will be a beautiful zone by the bay window with a large floral arrangement that you can draw with colored oil pastels and take home.
Light refreshments will happily be provided. 🥛🍪

Meet the Artists The Mother: Gabriella Farkas Gabriella Farkas is a world-renowned fiber and mixed-media artist whose work anchors the exhibition's emotional landscape. Her intricately layered, tactile creations transform raw elements into deeply resonant visual narratives, bridging the gap between ancient craft and contemporary fine art.
The Father: Ivan Pavlovits (AA Studio) As the master artisan behind AA Studio, Ivan Pavlovits creates handmade lighting and vessels that celebrate the organic soul of timber. Utilizing exquisite, rare veneers, his work plays with luminosity and grain, turning functional design into breathtaking sculptural poetry.
The Sister: Devon Pavlovits Devon Pavlovits operates at the compelling intersection of fine art and tangible design. Her contribution to the exhibition highlights a multi-disciplinary practice that spans scale and medium:
Brutalist-Inspired Furniture: Striking, structural hybrids of raw sculpture and daily utility.
Large-Scale Paintings: Expressive, commanding canvas works that anchor and define the gallery walls.
The Devon Pavlovits Jewelry Collection: Wearable, avant-garde objects that translate her bold architectural aesthetic into an intimate scale.
The Brother: Mark Pavlovits Represented by the prestigious The Future Perfect, Mark Pavlovits is an innovative master glassblower. Having spent decades formulating his own inimitable techniques, Mark's work defies the typical laws of his medium—resulting in mesmerizing, fluid glass vessels that mimic the thick, organic drip of ceramic glazes.
Curator’s Note Though our mediums diverge completely—spanning fiber, wood, glass, canvas, and metal—a shared DNA of meticulous craftsmanship runs through every piece in the room. “Mother, Father, Sister, Brother” is an intimate look at a familial ecosystem where making is a primary language. It is a celebration of separate paths converging back at the root.
