In the Presence of Animals | Art Exhibition + Open Studio
In the Presence of Animals is a new exhibition by Mexican artist Nayeli Lavanderos, bringing together six large-scale Power Animal drawings in ink and watercolor that explore animals as presence, mirror, symbol, and portals.
Through intricate linework, color, and symbolism, the works invite us to slow down and encounter the animal differently — to notice its beauty, its particular way of being in the world, and what that encounter might awaken within us.
Join us at Casa da Lua in Ericeira for an afternoon of art and conversation, with access to Nayeli’s studio upstairs and a closer look at the world behind the work.
Alongside the exhibition and open studio, the afternoon will include an artist talk, DJ, drinks, light snacks, and time to gather and connect.
And if someone comes to mind who you feel would connect with the exhibition, you’re very welcome to invite them along.
Another way into the exhibition
On October 8, I’ll be hosting a Power Animal Drum Journey & Intuitive Drawing at Casa da Lua, offering a more experiential way to explore the ideas behind In the Presence of Animals before the opening. You can sign up here: https://luma.com/65i57uvd
I’m looking forward to welcoming you into this experience and sharing the world behind the work with you.
Warmly,
Nayeli
