About Event

Abriendo Puertas: An Intro to Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy for Latinx/e Clinicians
featuring Erica Sandoval, LCSW & Albairis Gomez, LCSW, moderated by Casey Paleos, MD
Presented by Latinx in Social Work® and InnerMost

Curious about Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)? Latinx in Social Work® and InnerMost invite Latinx/e social workers to a free evening on KAP: what it is, what a session actually looks like, and what it takes to become a KAP therapist.

Join Casey Paleos, MD, Erica Sandoval, LCSW, and Albairis Gomez, LCSW, for a panel conversation, then stay for food, drinks, and connection with clinicians who are curious about or already practicing psychedelic-assisted therapy.

The field needs more bilingual and bicultural clinicians, and we'd love for you to join our community. If you're interested, we also invite you to apply to join the InnerMost team.

Schedule
7:00 PM – Doors Open (please arrive no earlier than 7pm so as not to disrupt patients)
7:30 PM – Panel Conversation with Erica Sandoval, LCSW & Albairis Gomez, LCSW, moderated by Casey Paleos, MD
8:30 PM – Socialize & Connect

Free to attend. 1 free CE for LMSWs and LCSWs. Space is limited.

Continuing Education
This event offers 1 free CE for LMSWs and LCSWs, provided by Latinx in Social Work®.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the three phases of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (preparation, dosing, and integration) and the social worker's role in each.

  • Identify key clinical considerations for KAP, including client screening, informed consent, and set and setting.

  • Discuss culturally humble approaches to KAP with Latinx/e and bilingual clients.

  • Identify training and supervision pathways for social workers seeking to practice KAP.
