Double-Feature: "Integrity in a World of AI" + "How AI is changing the future of OffSec"
We have two speakers! OWASP LA is thrilled to announce that Bruce Schneier will be speaking at our August monthly meeting, followed by Brandon Veiseh is Co-founder and CEO of MindFort.
THANK YOU to our host and SPONSOR MindFort

>> TALK #1: Integrity in a World of AI (Bruce Schneier)
ABSTRACT #1: In computer security, the CIA Triad represented the three security properties systems should have: confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Of the three, integrity has been the most elusive; and, in an AI-powered internet-of-things world, the most important. This talk explores all the facets of integrity: data, processing, storage, and contextual. Web 1.0 was all about availability; Web 2.0 about privacy. If we are ever going to build the distributed, decentralized, intelligent web of tomorrow – and trust these systems to take complex actions on our behalf – we are going to need to solve integrity
SPEAKER #1 BIO:
Bruce Schneier is an internationally renowned security technologist, called a “security guru” by The Economist. He is the author of over one dozen books—including his latest, Rewiring Democracy—as well as hundreds of articles, essays, and academic papers. His influential newsletter “Crypto-Gram” and his blog “Schneier on Security” are read by over 250,000 people. He has testified before Congress, is a frequent guest on television and radio, has served on several government committees, and is regularly quoted in the press. Schneier is a fellow at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University; a Lecturer in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School; a board member of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and AccessNow; and an Advisory Board Member of the Electronic Privacy Information Center and VerifiedVoting.org. He is the Chief of Security Architecture at Inrupt, Inc.

>> TALK #2: Massive Coverage: How AI is changing the future of OffSec (Brandon Veiseh)
ABSTRACT #2: Attackers just got a new tool. Moonshot released Kimi K3 this month: an open-source, 2.8-trillion-parameter model that benchmarks near the top proprietary systems from OpenAI and Anthropic, at a fraction of the cost, with no cyber guardrails. Time to exploit is about to drop, and defenders need tools to catch up.
Meanwhile, most companies still test their attack surface once or twice a year. Code ships daily. Assets spin up constantly. By the time a pentest report lands, it's already out of date.
Autonomous AI agents are built for exactly this problem. They discover assets continuously, chain and validate real exploits instead of flagging noise, and in some cases ship fixes as pull requests for engineering teams.
This talk covers what's working today in AI-driven offensive security, where it still fails (false positives, severity judgment calls, safe exploitation in production), and how we are at a point where software is starting to secure itself. With a team from NetSPI, ProjectDiscovery, Anthropic, and OpenAI building autonomous pentesting agents, Brandon Veiseh will help showcase where the future of security is headed.
SPEAKER #2 BIO:
Brandon Veiseh is Co-founder and CEO of MindFort, a Y Combinator-backed company building fully autonomous AI security agents that find, validate, and patch vulnerabilities in web applications. MindFort serves multiple Fortune 500 companies and has prevented thousands of cyberattacks with AI agents. Before founding MindFort, Brandon led product and engineering at ProjectDiscovery, where he led development of the Nuclei cloud platform from an open-source tool to an enterprise product. He then led the Generative AI group at NetSPI, building generative AI tools for human penetration testers.
