About Event

Join Bold Art Society, The Conscious Kickback, and ILLY’s Dance CLASH for a one-of-a-kind cultural experience presented within Generational Mutualism, the inaugural exhibition at the Renaissance Townhouse Gallery.

Designed and built by world-renowned architect Justin Georges, the Renaissance Townhouse Gallery serves as the perfect backdrop for an afternoon exploring the power of intergenerational collaboration throughout the African Diaspora. Generational Mutualism examines a simple but vital truth: our greatest progress is made when elders, adults, and youth learn from one another, preserve cultural memory, and collectively shape the future.

As part of this special exhibition, The Conscious Kickback meets ILLY’s Dance CLASH for the ultimate diasporic dance dialogue. Together, we’ll journey through the defining dance moments that shaped Soca, Dancehall, Afrobeats, and other movement traditions across generations. This is far more than a conversation, it is where discussion meets dance cypher, sound clash, and living history.

The program will feature dynamic demonstrations, conversations, and friendly competition led by an extraordinary group of dancers representing diverse styles and cultural influences from across the Diaspora, including Kay Lvoe, Nika Melina, Beebz, Ken Ken, Caleb Ghana Boi, Kwame “Creees,” and Pyrotech Unruly. Through movement, storytelling, and cultural exchange, these artists will showcase how dance serves as both a vessel of memory and a blueprint for the future.

Experience song-for-song, moment-for-moment, and dance-for-dance exchanges as artists and audience members explore the evolution of diasporic movement culture and the ways traditions are passed down, transformed, and reimagined by each new generation.

Come celebrate the artists, architects, dancers, and cultural leaders who remind us that our future is strongest when every generation has a seat at the table—and a place on the dance floor.
